Welcome
to MY SITE
Hello and welcome to my site!
H
I am an Interdisciplinary Social Scientist focused on Gaza and other conflict‑affected areas in the Middle East. My work spans Higher Education, Education, Development, Health, Political Economy, Migration, Society, Institutions, Widening participation and others; I am always excited to explore new fields of knowledge.

My perspective is grounded in 22 years of lived experience in the Gaza Strip, combined with over a decade of extensive academic research and engagement at Oxford and Cambridge. This unique dual insight shapes the way I study systems, institutions, and everyday lived realities.

My expertise brings together rigorous academic research with practitioner and professional experience, having worked in lecturership, management, co-ordination and research roles in Gaza and the University of Cambridge, as well as involvement in national and international collaborations, including major projects funded through the UKRI Global Challenges Research Fund.

I am also interested in symbolic power and social justice across different contexts. In my work, I engage academic, policy, and public audiences, contributing research, analysis and commentary across multiple platforms.
Currently, I am a Research and Global Innovation Associate at the Cambridge Centre for Business Research, and a Bye‑Fellow at Queens’ College, University of Cambridge.

Alongside traditional academic outputs, I share my work through creative research dissemination, including poetry, film, animation, research GIFs, theatre, critical comics, games, and a podcast.
